The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) reports that alcohol is the number one drug of choice for teens in America .
In 2005, teen alcohol sales accounted for 15% of the national alcohol sales. In 2006, an estimated 17,602 people died in alcohol related crashes. An estimated 3 out of 10 people will be involved in an alcohol related accident at some point in their lives. Communities cannot afford to ignore the devastating impact that underage drinking is causing. There is an ongoing need at the local level to provide programs to teens such as the Shattered Dreams program that promote awareness and prevention of underage drinking and drinking and driving.
Bryce Kennedy Memorial was established in 2008 by Bryce's family members and friends who want Bryce's memory to stay alive and in hopes that we can touch the lives of others through education regarding underage alchohol use, drugs and drinking and driving.
